By Roland E. Williams
I know that I was wrong
To have done what I did
I would do it different now
If I had that chance again
My reasons for doing it
Are why I still think of you
After all this time:
The desire to be together
To be yours as you mine
This is me, now, reaching out
Even though it is in silence
As are the tears I shed
They may be less frequent
But the sweet thoughts of you
Remain as strong as they were
You opened my heart to you:
To wanting and needing you
And now, I reminisce in silence
That which could have been
May, in no way, be again
But I will always have a smile
Knowing you were once mine
